“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind… You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-38
Love has always been the touchstone of the Christian Community. The central commandment of Christ is that we love God and love one another. The Immanuel Community is knit together in love. The “Love” Area of ministry is composed of those who work closely with our Pastor and Board of Ministry to extend care within our community. We support and pray for one another in times of need and of celebration. We continually strengthen our communication and transparency as we share the story of the good things God is doing among us and through us. Together we love to tell and live the story.

Together We Care For One Another
“Love one another just as I have loved you…” John 13:34
Each Sunday we have a time in worship to share our joys and concerns. We take time for one another and listen. Sometimes upholding one another in prayer is what is needed. Sometimes it is a cup of coffee and listening ear after worship. Sometimes it is direct support for an upcoming operation. The heart of Christ’s love is that it was and is sacrificial. We want each member of the community to know that they are loved and cared for. As the Apostle Paul put it, There is nothing that “will be able to separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” It is into such love that we are committed to grow together.

Together We Celebrate
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say Rejoice!” Philippians 4:4
Joy is an infallible sign of the presence of God. Together we celebrate God’s goodness. Whether it is a simple birthday celebration after worship or a retreat away from the ordinary and the everyday; or an outdoor bar-b-que or a Christmas Caroling event… there is always great cause to celebrate our life together. What brings you joy? We hope you will share your joy with the community and allow us to celebrate you!

The “Love” Area of Ministry helps us tell the story both in our immediate community and beyond through our media presence, our live-streaming of worship, our Heart to Heart weekly news update and the website you are now reading. Brian McLaren once called the Christian faith “the story you find yourself in.” We didn’t begin the story and it will outlive all of us… but are delighted to find ourselves here in this community and we hope you will consider becoming part of God’s ongoing story at Immanuel.
